It is Denbar and Crazy Girls who have made it through to our Cup Final on 21 March. The Cup mini-league could hardly have been closer, with three of our four teams ending on five points. Only goal difference kept third place Topps Girls out of the Final. A big well done to all our players for such a close competition.

Once again, we have been invited to hold our annual six-a side competition at the Morden Funday in Morden Park on Sunday, 19 July.  It is a great showcase for the League and a curtain-raiser for the new season as well as a fitting end for the current one. It’s a great day out for the family, with stalls and events throughout the day. Money raised goes to local charities – including MGL. There is good parking and public transport links, and it is all about a mile from the Field. See you there!

We have had to cancel very few matches this year so far, thanks to the mild winter and good pitch maintenance by our contractors, Idverde. But remember if we do have to cancel we will contact every player. So always assume matches are on unless MGL HQ or your manager texts you to the contrary.

We know how much so many of our players love their kit. But it is expensive (about £30) and belongs to the League. So please return it to your manager if you do decide to leave your team. Thanks!

League membership is experiencing the same growth as the rest of women’s football. But we are always keen to maintain our squad sizes – so if you or a friend wants to join MGL, just fill in the form on the Recruitment page and submit it electronically to us. We promise to get back to you within a few days.
