REVISED MATCH PROGRAMME FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON

THE SPRING CHALLENGE (“MONSOON”) CUP

With 5 consecutive Saturdays of no football because of the weather, there is now no chance of completing even a truncated League programme. So Denbar have been declared Spring league champions because they were leading the table when the rains started. Since they also won the Autumn championship, that means they are the overall League champions for 2019/20. So well done to Michael, Jodie and the girls in black and white!

We will still play the MGL Cup Final as planned on 21 March. But for the two other Saturdays of the season (14 and 28 March) we are introducing a Spring Challenge Cup competition. The teams will all play each other once in a mini-league format with 20 minute matches, with the top two teams then progressing to the Final, which will be the last match on the 28th and also the last match of the season. With a Cup up for grabs then, it means we should end on a high.

So the revised programme now is

14 MARCH – SPRING CHALLENGE COMPETITION (THE “MONSOON” CUP): WEEK 1

10.30am                               Crazy Girls v Raynes Park

11.00am                               Topps Girls v Denbar

Interval

11.40am                               Raynes Park v Denbar

12.10pm                               Crazy Girls v Topps Girls

21 MARCH – MGL CUP FINAL (AS PLANNED)

10.30am                               Denbar v Crazy Girls

28 MARCH – SPRING CHALLENGE COMPETITION (THE “MONSOON” CUP): WEEK 2

10.30am                              Denbar v Crazy Girls

11.00am                               Topps Girls v Raynes Park

Interval

11.40am                               The Final

12.15pm                               Presentations

If there are further cancellations because of the rain, we may need to revise this programme again. But the forecast this week (leading up to 14 March) looks good, so fingers crossed!
